 Where is the Joy

Nehemiah 8:10 KJV ; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

People today have no joy because they are lost or they have “Left first love” and have lost there joy. Joy that they once had, a true happiness in life that is only received through salvation. When our sin is forgiven. We received a new life through Jesus Christ, it brings a joy that is filled in our heart through the spirit of God. This joy is knowing that we have salvation through Christ and we have made heaven our home. With our sins being blotted out our transgression is forgiven. It brings a refreshing with joy that can only be given by Christ. “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: But a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬ What greater joy is there to know then this we are born again, saved, set free. This cannot come by money, earthly possessions, or family. This can only be obtained through grace by being forgiven. This is something given to us that nobody can take. You also can have this joy through repentance and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

  Abiding in the fruit.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As we journey in our walk with the Lord, we are reminded to walk in the Spirit, so we do not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). When walking in the Spirit, we must have the Fruit of the Spirit abiding in our every step or else attempting to walk in the Spirit would be in vain. Those fruits are what help us stay Christ-like when enduring hardships, they include: Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance. Each ‘Fruit’ plays its own role in our we are to operate ourselves throughout everyday life. I encourage you to take thought for all your actions, make sure you do all things while abiding in the fruit.. ~ Taegyn May #7

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

This says it all. God sent his son, his only son Jesus to die and suffer for us. All of us. Not just one of us. If we only believe. But satan the ole devil wants us to all die and go to a burning hell. That’s why satan causes so much trouble with things like alcohol, drugs, sexual problems, child abuse, divorce etc. He doesn’t want us to have time to believe in Jesus and get to know him as our best friend. So, please remember there is a heaven and there is a hell. All you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized. Amen – Sis. Connie Arnett #4

 A Better Day is COMING!!!!!!

Isaiah 27:13 - And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

The Prophet Isaiah was a man that heard from GOD, we could learn a lot if we would be willing to listen to GOD when he speaks to us. When that trumpet sounds we will have a NEW JOY in our lives. We will be in the New JERUSALEM with our LORD and SAVIOR forever and ever.  Let us all try to be the Prophet ISAIAH, let us learn GOD’S voice and be obedient to what he says to us. Someday this as we know it will all be gone. Let us go to GOD in Prayer for our love ones, for our nation.  REMEMBER GOD LOVES US, we are leaving this body to one of two places, HEAVEN or hell. I pray that you ask GOD for forgiveness before it is too late.  I LOVE YOU ALL, may GOD Bless You Today!!!!!!! - Bro. John Julio Colvin #7

Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

I had a thought about how a race car driver goes around a racetrack, they go at full throttle down the straight stretch until they come to a curve. That’s when they must slow down and hit their brakes. Sometimes we do the same. We go at full throttle until life throws us for a curve. Life can run smoothly and we don’t think about slowing down until were faced with things out of our control. We get so caught up in a fast pace that we forget to enjoy all the goodness of God and he has to get our attention. He just wants us to slow down and bask in his presence. For he is our refuge and strength in times of trouble.. – Sis. Opal Colvin #6

   You are the one!

‭‭Luke‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ - What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

Do you ever feel like your alone and that if you just went a stray that no one would even notice and or care just feel disposable I know that sounds awful or just feel left out and not wanted that’s cause when you are trusting in man you are always gonna be let down cause the Bible says in  Psalm‬ ‭118‬:‭8‬ ‭”It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.”idc who it is your friends you family they are gonna let you down that’s why you need to Trust in the Lord and not man cause he cares so much that he has hundred sheep and one goes a stray he cares enough to leave the ninety nine to come just to find the one . do your remember when you was the one he came for to rescue save deliver and set free you need to remember your not ever forgotten in the eyes of the Lord man may do you wrong and let you down but if you trust in the Lord and not man you won’t be let down and sometimes that’s hard for us to understand why things are happening why someone is doing us this way or treating us a certain way but we also have to know not the lean on our own understanding ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.”so if you feeling left out or not wanted know your not as long as you have Jesus you are never alone he loves you so much that he would leave the ninety nine just for you so if your feeling alone or left out just hit your knees and pray cause he is right there and he will never leave you or forsake you . ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬ “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”  I’m Thankful that I’m never alone and Jesus is always there .Amen

“Learning to Trust in the Lord”

Psalm 20:5 — “We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.” Psalm 20:6 — “Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.”  Psalm 20:7 — “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”

This psalm is a plea for God’s help. David is saying, “I’m going to bring all my cares, worries, and burdens before the Lord, and if it is His will, He will move.” (Psalm 20:4 — “Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.”) Above all, no matter how the Lord moves, David desires for God’s will to be done. David was a man after God’s own heart. As I sit and think about my life and all the different circumstances and petitions I have brought before the Lord, I can’t help but think, His will be done no matter what. Sometimes the Lord doesn’t move, save, or strengthen in the way we think He should. However, we can stand strong knowing that God knows what is best. We can stand firm knowing that, as long as we are blood-bought, saved, and His anointed, as David said, He will save and strengthen us one way or another. It may not be the way we think it ought to be, but it is His way. We need to stand strong in knowing that He hears us and will always be there for us. We don’t need to trust in worldly things, as David said. All we need is the Lord. He will fulfil our petitions, save us, and strengthen us. - Sis. Rachael Hensley #7

Psalm 119:59 – “I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.”

When I got saved I thought of my ways, I thought of the mess I was in, I thought of the hurt I caused to myself and others, I thought of the way my life was going. I turned my feet unto thy testimonies, I chose in that moment I was going to have enough faith to turn towards the lord. I knew what he could do because I knew the testimonies he had given others and I used what itty bitty faith I had to say lord I can’t go on like this save me forgive me for my sins and help me lord. He wants to help us, in the big things and in the small things he is there to lead and guide us. I think often about everything he has done for me, it’s important for us to remember what he’s done for us, how he pulled us out of the way things were into something new with him. Jesus is the way he’s the only hope we have I ask him a lot for a heart check, Lord help me to think on my ways and be sure that I always stay in your will and if I step out of your will Lord help me to turn my feet back towards you, back towards your testimonies and your will. - Sis. “Are we following the Lord, or following a routine?”

The Bible tells us all through scripture of how we are supposed to do a work for the Lord, it teaches us how to be obedient, how to love and what kind of people we are supposed to be. They call it the good book for a reason, if you truly live your life according to this word of God, there’s no better life that you could live. Yes, we’ll face trials and persecutions, unjust judgements from this world, we’re told these things would happen. We’re told that if this world persecuted and crucified our Lord, why would we not go through these things also as we’re trying to live like him, for him. But still yet we have to make sure we are doing what we can and should for the Lord, if we truly want to make heaven our home.

But going on, we’re told in Matthew 7:22 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” So we know from this scripture that many who claim to live this life, aren’t gonna make it. And so we need to make 100% sure that we are not getting so caught up, in the routine of being a Christian, that we forget to actually BE a Christian. We need to make sure that we live what we say, we need to always make sure that our hearts are in right standing with God and not that we are just going through the motions. It needs to be an inward and an outward work, not just an outward look. There’s a right way and a wrong way to do just about anything, and if we truly want to make heaven our home, we need to make sure that our hearts are set towards God in everything we do, that we are doing things for him the right way. We need to pray and check ourselves every day to make sure we’re doing this because we love God, want to see people saved and want to make heaven our home. Not just because we want to appear holy. Go with Jesus and you won’t go wrong. - Bro. Jonathan Greene #6

Matthew 7:24–25 KJV -“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

Storms are not optional in life — they are inevitable.

The rain will descend. The floods will come. The winds will blow.

The difference is not in whether storms come — it is in what we are built upon.

Jesus says the wise person doesn’t just hear His words — they do them. Obedience becomes the foundation. Faith becomes the footing. Trust becomes the concrete beneath our lives.

When your life is built on feelings, opinions, or circumstances, storms shake everything.

But when your life is built on Christ — even when tears fall, even when prayers feel delayed, even when life feels heavy — you do not collapse.

Why? Because the Rock does not move.

Your foundation determines your stability.

So today ask yourself: Am I building on sand, or am I anchoring myself daily in God’s Word? - Sis. Tammy Smith #5

The Subtle Counterfeit- When Familiarity Mimics Holiness.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers of Righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. ( 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 )   We often imagine the enemy attacking the church with loud, abvious rebellion. But his most dangerous tactic is subtle infiltration. A" familiar spirit" is a demonic entity that doesn't just walk into a church - it often sneaks in through the back door of our emotions, our unresolved past, and our need for comfort. It is called a familiar spirit because it is, quiet literally, familiar with you.it knows your history,  your trauma, your desires, and your weakness. It studies bloodlines, gathering intelligence to exploit. The most chilling aspect of this spirit is how easily it Mimics the Holy Spirit. It can walk into a worship service, mimic the language of faith ,and even " prophesy" things that seem true , leading people to embrace it as a move of God. It whispers comfort during seasons of disobedience, making people think God is condoning their sin, when in reality, the devil is trapping them. People often fall into this spirit without realizing they are worshipping the devil, believing all the while they are honoring the Holy Spirit. If a "voice" or a "feeling" makes you feel comfortable in a place God has called you to leave, or if it produces pride rather than repentance, it is likely not God's Spirit. The goal of a familiar spirit is to make you "almost obedient" while leading you away from the truth.   The key to Discerning the counterfeit:  The Holy Spirit points to Jesus and produces holiness. ( John 16:14 )   A familiar spirit points back to self and produces bandage.  ( 2 Cor 11: 14 )  If it feels good but produces confusion, division, or a slow withdrawal from the word of God, it is not of God. Beloved , believe not every spirit but Try the spirits whether they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world; ( 1John 4:1)  if a teaching or experience brings emotional high but lacks scriptural foundation or conviction, take it to the altar and ask the ( Holy Spirit ) to reveal the true source.   ( Isaiah 8:19 ) should not a people seek unto their God?   Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I renounce every familiar spirit that has tried to infiltrate my life, my or my church. I break every generational tie that gives these spirits access to me. Lord, sharpen my discernment, purify my hearing, and fill me afresh with Your Spirit of truth. I will not be deceived. I will walk in the light as You are in the light.    In Jesus' Name. - Sis. Florence Tackett #7

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

~ Psalm 126:6 KJV

There is comfort in this verse. It doesn’t ignore the reality of tears. It explains that sometimes we walk through seasons where we are still sowing, still trying, still trusting… while hurting. The carrying of the seed while weeping reminds us that faith isn’t always joyful in the moment. Sometimes it’s choosing to keep going when your heart feels heavy.

But God doesn’t let that be the end of the story.

This verse promises a return. Not empty handed, not unchanged but with joy and harvest. Sheaves meaning BUNDLES. Every tear watered prayer, every quiet act of obedience, every moment you chose faith over giving up, none of it is wasted. God sees it all, and in His timing, He brings fruit from it.

If you’re in a season of weeping while sowing don’t stop planting. What feels like loss or tiredness now may be the ground where God is preparing something beautiful. - Sis. Rayona Fletcher #6

The squeeky wheel gets the oil

Psalm 27:7 – “Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.”

I stood at work one day with some co workers and we were talking about how our residents would ask for certain things. Some were specific, they wanted a specific food made a specific way. Some residents ask for the same things over and over. As we talked, a precious elder coworker made a statement - ‘The Squeaky Wheel Gets The Oil.” My heart began to ponder. Have I been asking? Has God heard me cry out so much he would consider me ‘Squeaky?’ Blind Bartimaeus did. His story can be read in Mark 10:46-52. Here Jesus was the King of glory passing by his way. The bible says that when he heard it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.” Many wanted him to remain silent, charging him to hold his peace but he cried out the more a great deal. That would be considered Squeaky to me. Loud, noisy, and continually he asked and cried.

Because of his cry and persistence, Jesus stood still, commanding him to be called, Bartimaeus made his way to Jesus and the ‘Squeaky Wheel Got The Oil!’

Jesus asked him what he would have him do unto him. He responded by saying, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Jesus said unto him, “Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.” And immediately he received his sight!

Don’t let nothing stop you from crying out! The Bible tells us if we ask, we shall receive. Blind Bartimaeus cried out and he got the oil. The healing power of God poured out that day and he followed Jesus in the way.

Don’t stop asking, don’t stop crying out!

Oil is on the way! – Sis. Tiffany Patrick

 Find Joy In Jesus

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)

There are days when happiness doesn’t feel big or loud. It’s not always smiles or everything going right. Sometimes it’s just a quiet peace in the middle of everyday life.  That means joy isn’t something we have to create when life is easy. It’s something God gives us when we trust Him. It may not always change what we’re going through, but it can change how we go through it.  As Christians, we don’t have to chase happiness like the world does, always needing more or waiting for everything to be perfect first.  God gives something deeper. Even on hard days, there can still be a quiet joy that reminds us He is with us and we are not alone.  Happiness in Christ isn’t about having a perfect life. It’s about having a present God.  And when you have Him, you still have reason for joy. Find joy in Jesus!!

- Sis. Sheena May #7
